help need advice on how to restrict a bike asap

my mate has had a bump on my old aprilia mx50 and needs to sort it before inshurance comes out i'm going to down gear the bike back to 12 tooth front sprocket(standard) only thing is it has a race end can marked e11(is this ok?) its rather loud


so what can i do? put a washer in the carb or simular?

If he's 16 it needs to be restricted to 30mph.

the thing is the aprilia standard setup it use to pull 40 !!! and with the big end can 45 even with standard gear ration what can i do to it to bring the predicted speed down (its a tad mangled)

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

i dare say they wont strip it down and find out if you have derestricted it. as you say as a standard bike it did 40 any way and they insured it like that.
if you still have the original can stick that back on it, if not and they ask say it got a rusty hole so i reoplaced it with this one.
i can't see you having any real problems

well it aint that hevily de restricted just an extra tooth on the front and teh end can! and it is the cars fault for doing an illegall amouvor as teh police officer said i was only inches away from being hit by the car then my mate hit the car he was doing a u turn out of a buss bay he shot out alsdalmost naile dme then my mate wrote of his 02 seat ibiza and we where only doing 30-35 coming around a blind bend

When the insurance inspector came to inspect my yb100 after a no fault accident there werent any engine internals. So I wouldnt worry about it as I would assume that the inspector will look at the easily seen bent bits and write it off.
