Long time reader, first time poster and all that shiiit. Soooo got my test on monday, kinda nervous but looking forward to it. Just been having lessons every week rather then an intensive course.
I feel confident riding normally, just whenever anyone even mentions the word test everything goes tits up.

Hopefully when I next post I wont have wasted a day/£100 fee and can start looking for my first ride Very Happy

Just 3 pointers.

Nail the friggin uturn, don't be a pussy or drift into silly tart mode like I did.
If you can't do an emergency stop u shouldn't be on the road, dead easy, not too much back brake. Just stop the bike normally.
Do loads of lifesavers and let him see you're using your mirrors.

I passed with no faults on the second attempt.
Failure is not an option. Cos you will be in hell for the 2 weeks between tests.

Hope you breeze it.

Good Luck for Monday....remember the examiner is not looking for perfection. Just an all round safe ride, showing that you can control a motorcycle and are safety conscious.

You mgiht find this posting helpul:

I was a little concerned about my manoeuvres, but an instructor gave me a lot of help with them.
The emergency stop was a matter of learning to control the rear brake for maximum stoppage with no locking - the examiner told me he was quite impressed as I did lock the rear for a moment but then brought it back under control quickly.
The u-turn... I found that this was all about mentality. I went into it thinking that I would fall off and drop the bike before I put my foot on the floor - and it paid off.
I passed first time with 4 minors - none of which were from the manoeuvres (but I won't go into the details).

Well, thanks for the advice, it seems to have done the trick.
Passed with 2 minors Cool

I was very surprised since I was mentally counting all the minor and serious faults I thought I was doing.
Some of these include:

1. Forgetting my lifesaver 20 seconds into the test whilst turning right on a mini roundabout. D'oh

2. Trying to 'make progress' and perform an overtake at 50mph on a duel carraigeway only to pass a 40mph sign halfway through.

3. Schoolboy error at the final hurdle, beeping the horn whist scrabbling for the indicator to pull into the test centre.

The actual U-Turn went like a dream, but pushing the bike across the road nearly ended in disaster, I stumbled over my big feet and the bike was on the verge of toppling over.

But thats all old news, it's all becoming a distant memory, now I can find a bike soon as pos, and hit the road!!
