hi i would like to start off by saying thanks to everyone who answered to my last post.... anyways ill update you people on my situation well after a week of naging my dad he agreed to drive me the 30miles to look at a tzr 50 i found on biketrader. well when i got there the place was a dump... looked around for a couple a minutes and when went to ask the guy about the tzr which he replyed "oh... sold it this morning" as you can imaging i wasnt impressed. but i later found out the guy was talking out of his arse as when i got home the bike was still on biketrader and was still there till very recent so he proabably sold it weeks ago and was using it a add or somthing because he had a other 50 there which where beaten up pretty bad.

well to my question... which is the best 50cc sports bike out there to buy.. i went to a local garge and asked the man there and he said only buy jap bike dont buy any of these makes like motospaina, derbi and even the rs50 he said there are the odd good one but most arnt very well made and the part are hard to find.... some of the bikes he suggested are as old as me (16) and very rare indeed. so i am really just asking for a second opinon and if anyone has any first hand experance to please share it or is some one knows anyone who is selling a 50cc sports bike in nw england (around the st.helens area) please let me know

Don't really know much about 50cc sports...

There's a kid that rides one near me, it sounds like a bumblebee in a loudspeaker.

How far off from your 17th birthday are you? 125's are a lot easier to come by.

NRG MC3's are supposed to be one of the quickest, my mates had 60 on the clocks with just a de-restriction and sports pipe. Thumbs Up

Oh the days of 50cc!

RS50, not that im biased, everyone says "oh there shit and they will blow up" I never had ONE major problem with my RS50 for the year i had it. Plus my 03 plate one did 62 (indicated + Clocked by a car(both civilian and copper Embarassed ) ) just derestricted.

He sounds pretty biased, Aprilia and Derbi are two of the most respectable brands in low capacity bikes and scooters. I would twist his words to say get pretty much anything Japanese (Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha) or Aprilia or Derbi or even Benelli (yes, they do scooters) but for the love of God don't get anything Chinese. Which basically means don't pay £800 for a brand new trail replica or whatever, made by 'Hongdou' or 'Symian' or any other crappy name.

Mostly depends on your inside leg measurement. CBR might be a little high, but Bendy on here isn't lofty either and she rides a CBR. If it comes to it, you could get it lowered and the seat trimmed, or just get a slightly lower bike like a ZZR600. Really though you just need to watch out for heavily cambered roads and get your low speed control sorted.

FYI I took the CBT, and rode a moped, for about 9 months, but then spent 6-8 months without any riding whatsoever. Then I took the test and I'd passed after 8 hours of training over 2 days. It might cost less in the long run to just do your test in August, but you do miss out on valuable road experience, so it's a very 2 sided coin. Just don't overspend, you'll regret it when you come to sell and you want that cash to do your test and get a bigger bike. Thumbs Up
