Hi all.

Just thought I'd introduce myself - since I've seen a couple of other intro's on this forum it might be the place to be.

My real name's Leon, 27, got into biking a couple of months ago - have been wanting to for ages, but had girlfriend issues. Since I split up with her I decided to just go for it - along with a whole load of other things I can now fix in my life Smile

Booked and passed my theory, then booked a 6 day intensive DAS course with orangebikers / Paragon (https://www.orangebikers.com/) - I do recommend them to any in the area looking for training. Admittedly I'm not exactly an expert, but the price was good, and the training excellent. I went on to pass my test on the 6th day with absolutely no minors. To tell the truth the examiner seemed a little miffed since he didn't actually talk to me about anything. Was very confused - and then well pleased afterwards obviously. The trainers were a little surprised since I'd managed to get the nickname, Muller - cause I mullered everything Confused dropped the bike on the 3rd day, knackered some headphones same day... It was all bad.... And yet, by the end Very Happy

About 2 weeks later bought the ninja - decided on a cheapy bike (no offence to other ninja riders - it's an awesome bike) that wouldn't depress me too much if I dropped it (only £1600 for it, a pretty good deal - although check my other threads to see why Rolling Eyes). So far it's been cool - once ran out of fuel on the dual carriageway, had a few fun moments and a couple of stupid mistakes that luckily I've survived unscathed (aside from pride and adrenaline!).

Went on a VMCC rally - had some fun treks through the woods (yes I know my bike's not vintage, but was one of two modern bikes - the other belongs to my mum's fiance who works with one if the vmcc organisers) helped a broken down vintage biker Smile A fun day..

That's about it biking wise... Commuted to work a few times, but it's a killer hauling everything I need to on a rucksack on my back - am trying to sort a topbox to make that easier, but not gotten there yet....

I'm a software engineer, doing property development, and attempting to start my own company in the software / web arena. Into amature DSLR photography, hoping the biking will tie into that nicely..

Joined this forum for some friends, some ride outs, advice (and plenty of it please Smile ) and to take my biking further...

Hope to get to know you all much better over time Smile

Z.

Ahh yes, here's a quick piccy of me at the goodwood festival of speed Smile (apologies to anyone it frightens... Have improved since then I swear Smile )

Thanks for all the welcomes Smile

I was wondering - I took a lot of photo's at the festival of speed, some even of bikes Smile (although I went on the friday so wasn't main track day) - would people be interested in seeing them, or would I just be using up BCF bandwidth - I'd obviously cherry pick the decent ones (took over 800 that day) and keep it pretty much bike related.

Or should I look at something like flikr to host them and just link them?

I realise the festival was 4 months ago - and has probably been covered already so feel free to tell me I'd just be duping Smile

Any thoughts?

Z.

Hello and welcome! Nice introduction, I don't recall having seen any photos of Goodwood (though probably missed them during a blonde moment) so feel free to post them.

Congratulations on the no minors Thumbs Up

Thanks again guys 'n' gals. I'd hoped for a warm welcome - and was not disappointed Smile

The photo's are being worked on, but I ended up with 50 odd meg of them (only 23 photos, but even cropped and with reduced quality they are around 2 meg a piece...), and didn't want to add to BCFs bandwidth bill - so signed up to flickr, only it doesn't quite mention that you can only upload 20meg a month (obviously until after you've gone through the hassle of signing up), unless you go the pay for route...

Since I want to get into the photography side, I thought, yeah why not... Only it's gonna take a while before they enable the account fully - sigh... Smile

Just thought I'd say thanks - and I'll hopefully have the photo's up in the next day or so... So stay tuned Wink

Z.

If you MS Outlook 2003 or later, try sending a mail and attaching photos to that , it will give u options to send the pic as regular attachment or small/medium/large. Choose any of the three sizes and you get around 100/250/450kb file. Thumbs Up

Now you have no excuse!! Wink
Cheers,
Dew

Arrrgh nooooo. Smile

I don't use outlook - never been a fan... Aye I could resample the pictures but then you'd lose a lot of the glorious hi res goodness Smile Cheers for the suggestion though, I think if you see what I've got uploaded already you'll agree that it's much prettier in high res Very Happy

If you check my sig you can see the 6 I managed to upload to flickr before hitting my 20meg a month limit... I've paid for the beef it up to 2 gig (that's enough to almost upload my entire photo collection from that day) but for some reason, despite having received my money they've not updated the allowance yet... Mad

Might just post a topic with the 6 as a teaser for more to come Wink
