I know a lot of people of worse off than me and that I should be grateful for the things I have which I am. However recently I am feeling down, tired and generally in a bad mood I think this is because:

I don’t like my job (working to change that)
Not to keen on the new puppy that we got on Monday.
Don’t have a girlfriend (well who would want to be around me at the moment)
Not been on a decent ride out for a while, damn weather!

So I was wondering how do the good people of BCF do relieve themselves of stress or what do you do when your in a bad mood?

I found out this morning riding a bike when you’re in a bad mood isn’t perhaps a good idea, too aggressive.

Exercise is proven to relieve stress. Go for a run, or go swimming or just for a long energetic walk.

Go to the pub. But don't play the fruit machine. Brick Wall I eventually got a £40 streak out of it, but spent an hour feeding about £50 in and keeping the vultures away every time I went to get pound coins.

Your job can really affect you mate, they take valuable time from you, so make sure you enjoy it a little.
What’s wrong with the puppy?! Lol
Have you got a bath?

If you feel down, use women, it’s makes you a man.

Weather is shit, and also will affect you mood.

Stay in bed

Stress is a funny old thing: it's 95% how you think about what happens to you, not what is actually happening to you (i.e. the stressors).

As mentioned: going to the gym is a good thing but it won't stop the stressors or you thinking of them. Withought launching into amateur therapy it sounds like you're doing the right thing: looking at what you can control (i.e. job) in terms of where you are now and where you'd like to be in the future, and taking steps to get there. As far as being mentally healthy goes, you're doing well!

As for the rest, where possible do the same (how can you think about it differently/change it etc.) but also appreciate that some things (e.g. the weather) are out of your control.

sod the puppy - get a kitten. It's 100% proven * that kittens reduce stress and make you live longer

*pet owners live 4-years longer on average

Wow didn't expect this kind of reponse! There are quite a few suggestions about going to the gym and to be honest I have given it some thought before.

Found out that theres a local gym just half a mile I'll have to give that a go.

killa wrote:

I know its a bit strange lol but the puppy was bought by my parents as they are retired. So its for them really which is great as they stay exercised. I just prefer my old cat before he passed away he would just sit on you and purr and be peaceful.

Plus I don't like the idea of getting close to the dog as I remember how hard it was watching my cat being put to sleep.

That should help with the other suggestions Laughing

Take the puppy for long walks; his/her antics are bound to lift your spirits. Plus, you get fresh air and exercise. And, a cute puppy is a girl magnet. Thumbs Up

I would play bowling, dart, sing favorite songs at karaoke box for 1 hour, go home and take a bath longer. Then I drink a little, and go to bed without watching TV or internet at all. TV ,internet, and TV game sometimes enlarge my stress. Warmed body get colder, then I can fall asleep well. (But I often turn on PC and regret staying up late next morning).

Aww, bless
You should let the puppy into your heart! It is proven that lil animals can reduce your stress

Love the wee beastie a lot, make it your new focus to teach him a new trick every week! That would be cool.
I agree, take him for walks... you will feel energetic and happier, and the women will flock to yer! Wink

Failing that, drink some vodka Thumbs Up

**BTW.. you got a photo of this lil darlin pup?? That would be nice. Make all us woman say ahhhhhh Embarassed Laughing **

I find it help's a great deal.

If I don't do some form of exercise for a couple of week's, an injury brought this on, I found I pondered about pointless stuff alot more and was generally a grumpier person.

Even if it's just a walk for a few miles I find I feel alot better for it.

The gym's also a good idea as there are lot's of good looking women in lycra. Razz Go to a Pilates class and be amazed, try not to dribble too much. Razz Laughing
