Just wondering whether you guys just switch the ignition to off or press the engine kill switch when your cutting the engine?
Does it make a difference which way you do it?

i quite often use the kil switch before i even get to where i'm parking. just a habbit of mine. also i always lock the steering in a smooth way as i'm getting off the bike, so i've never forgot my key.
a mate of mine with a CB250's always leaving his key there. luckily it's a sh*t bike Laughing

I was told its always best to use the key to shut the engine off, just in case the kill switch decides to break in the off position. I was told a nightmare story about a bikes kill switch which broke in the off position 3 times in a year. (you would have thought the rider would have learnt his lesson after the 2nd time if not the first time).

I can always remember turning upto McDonalds last summer me on my moped and my mate on his rs50, and we parked up and across the car park was 3 bikes. A gilera dna 125, a mito, and a gilera runner 125.

We went across and I was wondering what 125 I wanted the next year and I had already checked out the NSR (which I now have Laughing ) and the RS125 but I wanted to see what the Mito was like.

Went upto it, went to see the clocks and the twat had put disklock on, and chained it to the gilera dna but left the key in the ignition, which coincidentally had the locks for the disklock and the chain on by the looks of things. I mean how do you put a disklock and chain on without taking the keys out of the ignition first???

So anyway, I took the keys into McDonalds, 3 lads sat down at a table, one wearing full leathers so I presumed his was the mito. Went across...... 'nice bike mate'...'thanks'.....'how long you planning on keeping it'.........'2 years till i get my test'......'cool, but i doubt you'll have it in 2 years time if you keep leaving the keys in the ignition' and i put them on the table......he was so grateful i swear.......even bought me a donut Very Happy
