Hey people !!! i was gona by a parallel import from europe, until i was told a derestricted one can only hit around 85 MPH ??? and a derestricted UK bike can hit close on 100mph !!! :o
Ok,Ok, mayby this disscussion has been around before but there cant be much differance between the Uk bikes and European. Of course to derestrict them, both need the exhaust drilled (correct??) both need the Carbarettor plate pulled out and made bigger (correct??). But what is stopping the European model hitting 100mph Mad ?. Is it the CDI ignition that causes this problem (anyone have any thoughts on this ???)And Does anybody out there think that it would be possible to swap the European CDI unit for a UK unit (new / second hand ) ???? and would this then alter the speed at all, as that thing controls the rev limits right ????? The engines otherwise are totally the same (right??) PLEASE PEOPLE HELP ME ON THIS ONE
Cheers

Im sure the import can hit the same speeds but is extremely difficult to fully derestrict, more then likely will need new parts to get the maximum performance, an actual uk bike on the other hand takes around 2 hours with no new parts and hits 105 downhill *scary* Smile or 100mph on the flat

100mph = 480000ft travelled per hour thats 133ft travelled per second Smile

when you think of it like that its scary!

The imports have 22hp cylinder, the uk bikes have 28-30hp cylinder. Wink
