Hi all,


I have a 97 Honda NSR 125R fully powered and I reciently had a leaking fuel tank, my friend also had the same problem on his NSR, I got the tank rewelded and resprayed and it is fine again. has anyone had this problem with there NSR

Rewelding a tank, must be a real nut to do that??!!

Yeah i had that problem cos my bikes an old un. I was gonna re-weld mine but then decided easiest way would be to fill over. What i did was:
1: Drained the tank (obviously) let it fully dry out
2: The area that is leaking, indent the whole area with a hammer
3: Grind all the metal bare(filler sticks to bare metal like shit to a blanket)
4: Fill over it
5: Rub it down
6: Fill it again to perfect shape
7: Rub it down
8: Prime it
9: flat the primer
10: Paint it
11: Flat it
12: Give finishing coat, blend in with rest of paint and is sorted.

It only cost me 65 euro which is about 50 sterling which isnt bad, and I got it sprayed for free cos I know a friend who is a panel beater and sprayer. I hope it dosnt leak again. Very Happy
