You seem to know a lot about the aprilia rs bikes. I have an rs250, wich I took out of the garage for the first time this year yesterday. I got it started and got up to about 10mph and when I pressed the front brake lightly the wheel locks up, resulting in a crash. I know the brakes on the 250 are quite powerfull, but is this normal?

You're problem is that with the bike being stood, the smooth surface of the brake disc has slightly corroded and this results in it losing its super smooth finish. Until youve don a couple of miles and worn the disc smooth again, itll feel snatchy when you first brake.

Hi

I will second that opinion. Check out the front wheel bearings as well, and the condition of the front disks, but I tend to agree that the problem is probably light corrosion on the disk, maybe also with the brakes sticking slightly, and when you overcame the slight resistance you were using enough force to lock the wheel

All the best

Keith
