What you could do intead (and what I do) is bouy some Visionarys - theyre tinted plastic insters for the visor.
One justr tints it enough fo ost of the year or you can put 2 on to black it out properly. Theyre completely legal, youcan take one (or both off) if(when) the weather gets shit, theyre nothing to carry around and they only cost £6 for 3. Oh, and theyre completely reuseable.
Just a suggestion.

I Dont like the idea of having to swap visors at night, so I bought the Motrax visor inserts from Demon Tweeks. They do the job alright, but they dont sit flush on the visor, making my eyes go weird when I take the helmet off

I live 5-10 mins from ya mate! tried the new Hein Gerike place? i know doble's doesn't do them, maybe motorcycle city? not exactly far to go! i've not had a chance to go there yet but what about that little shop just past the garage. i think it's called motor max?? go to most dealers and they'd be able to order them in for ya!
I've got a aeroblade lid which comes with one smoked tearoff, works well for me but i'll see if i can get another one to add to it for the summer

Don't bother with tear-off's. I had some last year and my bike got a flat tyre and I had a spare at home, so I borrowed my mates Prillia SR125 and was going about 70mph lifted up the visor and my insert flew out!!

Get a visor itself, much more worth it, and the way things are going they will become legal soon, and I don't think many coppers do you for the visors anymore anyway....only the odd dickhead.

There smaller shops..I think large chains like carnell city would get the book thrown at em if they started selling darkies again..

The visor shops probably the easiest way for you to get one

My dad just bought a dark visor for his lid the other day from https://www.performancemotorcycleparts.com The customer service is very good and the prices are okay

Why the hell did you open your visor at 70mph?? Youve got to admit thats not a normal thing to do.

And as for dark visors being made legal soon - I wouldnt hold my breath.

Yup, we live damn close!
And as for tearoff's coming off down the motorway, mine sticks at 125mph. maybe the visor wasn't on the helmet properly?
Mike in the clothing dept is the most informative bloke down there. completely unlike Mr Happy (Mike Doble who started the place is always grumpy!)
And the new look dobles really brightens the place up!

Rob, what bike is it you ride?

I'm glad it's not just me that thinks Mike doble needs a happy pill.. I bought my NSR of him.. wouldn't have thought I was just about to spend £3500 grand with his company - so he didnt get my repeat business.. went and bought a yamaha.. mike in the clothing dept was really helpful though!! - New showroom is great!

Ride an 2002 R6 now.. wonder where my nsr is these days??!! Crying or Very sad

Hmm, I once had my visor open "sideways" as I looked over my shoulder at about 70. One of the locating bolts had managed to come out and the visor was only attached on the right (not that I knew this). When I looked over my shoulder the wind caught the visor and it acted like a parachute on the side of my helmet. Serious effort to look forwards again!

All the best

Keith
