They are nicking them for a chip inside which apparentlly with a little modification can decrypt the syk digital signal
A stall guy at the comp fair was selling sky boxes with all the channels for dirt cheap was chattin to a guy about where the chips come from and mentioned this. |

Yeah,
Jeremy Vine was just on Radio 2 and was discussing this in his phone in.
One chap phoned in and proceeded to give detailed instructions on how to rewire your Sky box to receive encrypted channels.
Jezza got a tad worried and cut him short, because "we can't really go into this as it is an illegal procedure" or words to that effect!
He was just getting to the part where he was informing the nation which coloured wires went where!
But using Ford radios, for Chrissakes, I can barely get FM on the shitty factory set in my old Escort.
Jeremy Vine has just said that BSkyB has contacted the show with a statement that:
"There is a Ford car in America that can pick up Sky - but this is a radio station called Sky Radio. This may have been the cause of the rumours"
