Had a text from my driving instructor today saying hes been rushed into hospitol and will talk when he is out!

Now my driving test is sat morning! what should I do?

Should i try to find another instructor to use their car? If so I would have no practice in it!

Or what? I cant change dates now without losing money! Confused

Try and find an instructor who's got the same car?
Was it an instructor booked through a driving school? If so, speak to them and see what they can suggest.
Or, just call up local driving instructors/schools, explain the situation and see if what they say.

The alternative to trying to arrange a different car to use on saturday is do nothing and lose your test fee. Confused

If thats who you're with, then just call them in the morning and I'd have thought they'll be able to help you out by arranging a different instructor for saturday morning.

Or if you've got a car readily available, dash down to Halfords and get 2 of those stick on mirrors, it's all you need to take the test in your own car. My friend did it in his 1982 VW Polo. Laughing

Bless, I feel for you
Tests are dif enough without the added complications

I would call your instuctors centre and explain, they can't leave you in the lurch,,surely!!
If they do a big refund is on the cards!!

They should be able to provide you with a similar new car...
an 'old' car would be out of the question...

You couldn't do the test in an OLD unfamiliar car, that would be too much for you
The nerves of the day PLUS getting to know a car you didn't know to some degree
For one.. the lack of power steering would bugger you

Good luck dude!

JO xx

Got someone in a corsa picking me up about 40mins before my test! Confused

Great. Plenty of time to get used to the car, as well as iron out any faults then!

Oh well 2nd time lucky!

If you're good enough to pass it shouldn't matter what car you take the test in. But imo a Corsa feels easier to drive then a smart anyway. You just have to watch out for the very sharp brakes and feather light clutch.

Thanks, I need all the luck I can get! Being more realistic though, I can do everything but parallel park. It really is my Achilles heel.

Try a Citroen C2 for smart car likeness, took my test in the 1.6VTS.

Like a smart car, but very fast for its class.
