Hey,

I recently bought a 1993 GPZ305. I rode the bike 140miles home from Durham with no problems.

The next day i found that when i pulled the clutch in and put the bike in gear the bike would try to move forward. After riding the bike for about 10 minutes and coming to a standstill, with the clutch in, the bike would no longer try to move forward.

I've tried altering the clutch travel and have found that if i give it more clutch the clutch slips at over 6000 RPM.

I just wanted some opinions before i bought a new clutch.

Cheers,
Shaun.

Are you sure the plates are not sticking?

Ive had this problem numerous times - it was down to a minimal bit of rust on the steel plates.

Check them for rust and clean thoroughly.

If the bike had been standing around long enough this could be the cause.

HTH Thumbs Up

First thing I'd do is to give it a change of oil as it sounds like it's getting better as the oil gets warmer (and thinner).
