Looks like my first outing on track will be in the wet.

Oh well, not totally unexpected for November... that'll be why it was cheap.

Any specific advice for wet trackdays? Obviously take it easier than in teh dry, but tyre pressure, other things to watch out for?

Cheers

PS I'm still really excited Razz

Get on the power very smoothly and leave it until you're upright.
Similarly, brake smoothly and gently at first and don't try and carry braking into corners.

If it's on an SV650, you could always ask your local minitwiner if you could borrow a set of Wets Smile (don't worry Luke, the other set of wets!).

Tyre pressure for dry tyres would be the same.

My first track day was in the wet, I was well suprised with the amount of grip you get in the wet on these circuits. ( My first was Brands )

The wet didn't wreck my day at all; In fact I came back feeling quite pleased knowing how my bike handles in the wet on circuit.

Just noticed.. see pic left

have fun Thumbs Up

I did a soaking wet Lydden and you have a lot more grip than you think.

Just take it easy and be smooth, you'll get little twitches long before you slide off if you get faster slowly.

If you can borrow wets that'd be ideal though.
Even though it rained all day we had at least 1 bone dry session where we hooned round.

Handy to know which track, some offer more grip in the wet than others. Donington is very slippery in the wet, for instance, and parts of Cadwell are a bit as well, whereas Brands is very good.
