The funniest thing happened last night on the way home from work. I had just set off from the office car-park and was waiting to join the main road that runs alongside the building. It's a one way street and on a long straight with some lights about 10 metres up the road from where I was waiting. The lights were red and two bikes were at the front.
one was a brand new 636 Ninja, the other a Triumph sprint (with all the panniers and touring stuff). The triumph bloke was not up for a race at all, in fact I think he kept his eyes off the Ninja rider the whole time. The ninja bloke was sitting there with all his flash gear on revving the nuts off the bike.
Well, it had just rained quite heavy but the sun was now shining and it felt real hot...but as I said it had just pissed it down.
Lights go green and the triumph owner pulls away smoothly. The Ninja rider however reacts a little late, then gives it LOADS of revs and tries a racing start.......ooops! He hadnt realised his back wheel was on the white line (which was wet and slippy...duh!). The bike wheelspun, lurched to one side, suddenly gripped and spat him about a foot in the air! He ended up laying on his back in the road. Me and the triumph rider stopped to help him up, but he just got up, threw his smashed double- bubble screen in a bush, picked up his bike and shot off!
Let that be a lesson to us all, those lines are fu**in dangerous! |
