By vapourising their trash the yanks think we can solve our energy problems. Now the cynic in me says all that glitters is not gold, but wouldn;t it be great if it were true

You should read "The hunt for zero point" if you want to find out about a solution to free energy mate.

it is still burning stuff to create energy so it will still release gases that pollute

but it is a good use of rubbish

the only thing that bothers me, is that while power stations are usually far from where people live, rubbish incinerators are usually near where the rubbish comes from ie in populated areas

i dont like living near a rubbish incinerator as i am sure there is bad stuff in the air from it.

i dont believe that the fumes disperse as well as is claimed, and i think the surrounding area is polluted with whatever is burned

when oil or coal are burned, the expelled pollutants are fairly well known and controlled

when rubbish is burnt, all sorts of nasty substances can be in it such as heavy metals which are then dispersed as fine particles

Do you have any proof of this or is it just your opinion?

does anyone have any proof to the contrary ?

at night you can see the smoke from this incinerator, blowing sideways not upwards.

the higher the smoke stack, the greater the dispersal, but you are still gonna get a high concentration of pollutants by the source of the smoke

a quick bit of googling finds a few things that back up by view

i notice my local one in dudley has commited 80 offences on pollution between 1999 and 2000, 3rd worst in the country

general pros and cons

What's the problem? Oh no, it's not emmision free, they said it would be! Close them down! We want stinking dirty power stations which burn fossil fuels and we want to keep all our landfill intact too!

Tubes.

Get rid of landfills and burn waste not burn gas and coal to produce power? Sounds like a result to me. Thumbs Up

For all stuff that can't be recycled.
