You can get them repaired pretty well, I've had my fairing (aftermarket fibreglass jobby) sprayed at a place which repairs fairings really really well - the guy has photos of one in about five million squillion bits (exaggeration) and then pieced together beautifully. Have a look around for people on your area who do spray fairings etc. The guy I used is at Arnold's Fairings in Kingswinford (West Mids...) If you want any information about them just let myself or Keith know.

Yea, I kinda realised that AFTER I'd posted - felt a bit dumb - oops. It shouldn;t cost any more to respray than any other bike. It depends how many colours it is. Mine was expensive because it's five diffferent colours, all they do is mix it up (unless you go somewhere where they buy the proper official paint) but the job thats been done on mine - you'd never tell. Good luck! Hope you get it looking beautiful again soon!
