Well, im starting to look at other bikes for next year, and i just got thinking what sort of bike would attract different people,
Now obviously advertising a standard bike, people will be more interested if its been "ragged" and were and how its been ridden,
But what if i advertised my bike all tarted up it may attract the younger generation after a nice looking bike to impress there mates..

basically, would a standard bike get less attention than a really nice looking bike, or vice versa.. i know people have said standards get more attention, but if im looking at one, i like to see that its been looked after and treated to snazzy parts..

its probably because im a tart whore, but what do you think?

I think "Standard" condition bikes appeal more to those who are very interested in maintaining a high as poss resale value...

I usually buy cheap bikes and put unhealthy mileages on them (30k + a year) and thats for pleasure riding... dispatch bikes are another ballpark...

Myself personally i am primarily concerned with the bike being mechanically sound, i dont mind the whole ratlike look if needs be...

Also as someone who likes a nice exhaust note a good aftermarket exhaust is a bonus for me, whereas some may see it as not...

I think you were right when you said a "pimped" bike is gonna draw more attraction from the younger or tartier lot... whereas a standard bike may get more older attention, but then it depends on the bike...

A RS125 is usually going to appeal to a certain demographic, just as a BMW would... If i were to buy a ducati i would want full dealer service history whereas that would be nice but not important with a suzuki...

You might be lucky and find someone that likes the same shiny bits as you.
However, it's also likely you'll put off 75% of the possible buyers as well.

A realy nice looking bike is a standard one. If i see one with too much bling or a respray I always assume its been down the road at some stage.

I would rather buy something that has been looked after and standard than something that looks like it has been done over with a Halfauds Hammer. But thats just me.

I think what he really meant to say was "me, myself and Irene".
