Hey peeps...

After a friend's accident during a rideout a few weeks ago, I've been working on a rideout management system

After my friend crashed, it took a good 45 mins to find him, as he was at the end of the group. This system will allow the collation of info on Future rideouts, and stores info on Who is attending, their personal info, moby number, Emergency contact no, Bike reg, medical info etc...

If the worst Does happen, then all members of the group(Who printed out the email) have Each other's personal info, and emergency contacts, plus the reg no of the bikes being ridden.

I'd be happy to let y'all have a play with it, bearing in mind it isn't finished yet, and some functionality doesn't work (or is shakey)

Consider it an Alpha release Smile

Still...

I'm looking for feedback, so any ways of adding functionality, improving things etc, please feel free to drop me a line.

Cheers

Very good idea, but it seems like an awfully easy way for traffic police to collect the names/addresses/reg numbers of speeding bikers and the routes they will be taking... Maybe it could do with some authentication? (I.e. you need the ride owner's permission to view details of riders)

Call me over organised ,....
But in theory, everyone in a rideout should always keep an eye on the one man behind them anyway.
So that they dont get split up, and into dodgy situations like that!

I know what Korn's saying here. Isn't it just a better idea to all carry info on you in case of an accident, like emergency phone numbers etc??? Like everyone put them under the seat.

And then do what Viper says (which I do and think most of you do anyway) which is keep an eye on the people behind you.

The Details aren't visible to anyone but the ride participants. You can see a Name of who's attending, but thats all... and that's only to see if you would be happy going along.

I know if certain people I know were going on the ride, I'd probably Not go for fear of killing myself trying to keep up..

The personal details are only displayed in the final Emailing, to each participant, and I'd expect you all to know who is going along, as the system is intended for groups or clubs, rather than letting any top-dick and harry turn up on any old ride....

Also, if you are speeding, and get caught, then who else if to blame but yourself...

I know most of us often speed, but we know the risks.

It's something that will develop...

I foresee an online archive of the UK's best rides and routes, somehting similar to what Bike occasionally stick in their mag....

I also think there's a significant lack of info on "touring" in the UK, even if it's just a weekend blast round the highlands...

so I'm going to try and collate info of Bike friendly pubs, inns, B&Bs, hotels and campsites, as welkl as the routes themselves...

Linking to Multimap or similar for some graphical info and I reckon I've got a site Smile

well, I've been meaning to do something with kickingtyres.com for ages Smile
