Hey,
Decided that chain maintenance is becoming somewhat of a chore without a stand. So I had a look round and found this https://www.fastbikebits.com/acatalog/paddock_stands.html. Now, I know it's cheap and I remember a thread about one bending but that was with a decent size bike. I only need it to hold up a 125 TZR so not much weight there.
So basically, the question is will it fit? Is it suitable for the job?
Cheers Thumbs Up

Hi,

It was me that posted about the bendy stand.

That stand is exactly the same one that I had. Though I got mine at a place in Rotherham for £16.99.

I know a couple of people that have the same stand and they say they have had no problems. If you are going to buy it, give it a good checking over and watch your bike like a hawk when its hoisted.

TZR125 isn't exactly a heavy bike, you'll be putting much less force through it than FZR6 did to bend his.

I've got my TZR250 up on paddock stands, and even that bike is so light you can pick it up.

My local Honda dealer does official honda ones for £20. I'd go for a brand if you can..

My bike (SZR660, 159kg) bent one of those stands.

The stand didnt bend as such, it just gradually skewed and twisted its way sideways until the bikes weight tipped it over.

I would say dont waste your money, get an Abba stand.

You will only end up throwing it out and getting an Abba stand anyway- So why waste it?

PS Abba stands are also a lot safer and easier to operate on your own.

Paddock stands arent "too hard" but they mean if you slip or make a mistake the bike will fall over, whereas this cant happen with an abba stand really.

I'm not sure, but it looks suspiciously like the paddock stand G's got. Funnily enough, that one's bent too.

Abba stand - ~£105. Not happening. I simply can't do it. Again, you have a far heavier bike than mine so I'm still fairly hopeful it'll last the year or so I'll need it for.
I do understand where you're coming from though.

I got my abba stand (well, its an abba-type stand but not a real abba one) for £72 or something, inc delivery, from ebay.

its one of the "universal" type ones and its perfect.

I say why waste £30 on a paddock stand that will break within 3 uses, when you can get a proper one for £70 or so?
