Depends on the bike - my old GP125 had a circle of plastic to prevent the slide from rising to its intended height - took it out and an instant 20% more power...

Hi

Probably nothing in the carb, except maybe fitting a smaller one in the first place. More likely the carb jetting will have been altered to work with what ever other restrictions have been done.

The GP125 was restricted for the old 12hp learner laws on the cheap with a washer above the carb slide. Can't think of another 125 restricted like that.

All the best

Keith

Hi

Take it off and have a look. Check the slide opens fully. Check there isn't a plate after the carb restricting the airflow.

All the best

Keith

It won't be though, there's no point restricting a 4 stroke 125 in the UK.

Because they're two different engines made by two different manufacturers? Smile

That's like saying why does a CBR600 engine make more power than a XJ600 engine.
