I have managed to pick up a puncture off the crap from a building site next door strewn across our path.
anyway, its slap bang in the middle of the tyre and also in the thick bit of tread with absolutely loads of tread left.
the question is this, I have a get you home repair kit but am reluctant to use this to get me to the shop to get my tyre repaired,
is it possible to repair the tyre? if so what are the risks involved? legalities and so on with doing so?

very very annoyed as I'm possitive that its because of the building work yet I doubt ill be able to prove a single thing and also it was about 1 month ago I bought the tyres Evil or Very Mad

oh, in case any of you are in the same area as I am do they know of anyone who can mend it

You can get a shop to plug it from the inside out (thus being safe). Costs £30 ish to remove tyre, plug/seal, replace tyre.

Using these ones you'll be safe up to the recommended speeds of the tyre again since there is absolutely no way for it to escape.

Can you get the tyre off and take it in a car?
Should be cheaper that way and you save the home kit.

Is your kit a slime style on or a bung?

I'd trust the bungs a bit more.

Should be fine legally, providing the tyre's inflated ok.

Hi, I managed to get help from Beemer, a sheffield biker member who brought his standard bmw repair kit, Im now stuck to below 80k whatever that is untill I get it to a shop to get it sorted. Wil throw what tools I need into my back box and take it to the shop, remove the tyre and then get it plugged although I might just drop the bike off and pay the 30 quid lioke chris says it costs,

thanks for the replys

who said bmw riders are gits Smile

Anyone know what the legal position is of now getting the puncture repaired as it is right in the middle of the tyre?

hi again, i went to national tyres at barnsley today,

got a new tyre fitted on request (conti road attack) and also they repaired the avon for me so now I have a spare tyre Smile

thanks for all the help

quoting drew I was wondering what the legalities were for having a tyre repaired, how many times could it be repaired and also where on the tyre would a repair be unsafe and / or illegal
