Freakin' pedestrians, maaaan. They're everywhere. I'm just tryin' to ride through London, filter past traffic, y'know, and there they all are. Over my left shoulder. Over my right shoulder. They're in the trees maaan, behind buses and vans, like a coiled spring, ready to leap out the second I ride past. I can't take it any more maaan. I can't sleep any more, I just get these freaky nightmares about pedestrians leapin' out of my wardrobe and through the window. Every bus, every truck, every van or 4x4 I try to pass there's a pedestrian, quietly waiting behind it, listening for exactly the right moment to hurl themselves in front of my front wheel, nonchalanty, not looking, as if they're completely oblivious to me. But I know what's going on maaaan... they know what they're doing. They're attacking. They're like predators - waiting for the right moment to strike, and then BAM! You're on the floor and your bike's in pieces and before you know it you're up in court being sued for running one of these menaces over. I just can't take it any more, man. They're not in the (urban) jungle... they ARE the (urban) jungle. |

i nearly eniolated an african kid the other night...waiting at a pelicon crossing, just waiting for the lights to change and she decides to leap out just before the amber comes on the F*CKING P*ICK, nice wet road too. The best bit was that she some how decided that it was my fault, and my responce was "you know in this contry we have cars and bikes ya F*king N***A" so she death steared me , so i kindly turned to highbeam and blinded the CUN* !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the only person i can trust on the road is me and i have my doubts sometimes when i somehow endup doing 50 round an island in the cold
im ponderiny carrying a painball gun or a BB gun hidden inside my fairings so i san shoot the bas*ards ____________________ Rieju RS2 50cc MATRIX Race Replica - Cagiva Mito 125 - VFR400 NC30

I ran into a little 8 year old kid last night It's really shook me up and I'm just hoping he's ok. It was a big main road with central reservation 20 yards from a Pedestrian crossing. I wasn't going very fast 10-20ish, It was dark and this lad ran straight in front of me, I got the brakes and swerved and then ran into his little brother than was running across the road after him.
He was up straight away and ran to the edge of the road crying, I got straight off my bike and tried to calm him down. He kept saying "I'm in trouble I'm in trouble" his brother ran to get his parents and people in the cars around me at the time came to help. The lad had a lump on his forehead and the Paramedics said they think he may have broken his collar bone.
I'm not sure I want to get on the bike again for a while....

Wow man, that must have been a hell of a shock. The main thing to remember is that the kid seems alright, no doubt he'll make a full recovery... and from the sounds of it there wasn't much you could have done about it.
Perhaps find out where the kid lives, or what hospital he's gone to (if he's still there) and send them a bunch of flowers, or give them a visit? ____________________ Yamaha YB100 | Yamaha TZR125 | Yamaha XJ600S | Suzuki GSF600

I know how u feel. I had a similar accident a year ago. I had just rebuilt and resprayed my GPZ400R, it was mint.
On the way to work one morning a cyclist decided to come off the pavement and into the side of my bike. He took me off my motorbike and put himself in hospital. I can't describe to you how scared i was at the time. After picking myself up i looked back and saw him lying in the middle of the road, out cold, with blood pouring from his head. I really thought the impact had killed him.
Even though it was his fault i thought i'd do the kind thing of ringing up the hospital to find out how he was. His wife said he was alrite and that 'He did not see me.'
The police took a statement from me and breathalised me. Obviously i had not been drinking. I was never charged with anything.
Anyway i thought no more of it. That was until 3 months later i got a solicitors letter informing me that i was being sued for personal injuries. The story they told was aload of crap and complete lies.
I got in touch with my insurance company to counter claim and low and behold was told they couldn't claim anything from him because he was a pensioner and lived in council flat with no insurance.
Its still on going and my insurance company took all my no claims and bumped up my insurance.
I'm sorry to thread steal but i dont want u to fall into the same trap. Don't feel sorry for what happened, it was not your fault and do not be sympathetic to the other party if u know u did nothing wrong. They will not hesitate to sue you(Thats how ppl are these days), you only have to look on telly to see the miriad of personal injury solicitors.
Get into touch with your insurance company and mention the accident to them so that its on record. Your premium will not change and u will keep all no claims bonus. In the worst case scenario they will know what happened and will be able to deal with it quickly.
Im sorry to be the bringer of doom and gloom, Its just i've seen how 'Nice innocent ppl' can quickly turn into your worst nightmare.
Cheers,
Shaun. |

Shaun, you got any of his details or address? If I were you, I wouldn't let him get away with lieing through his teeth. This could involve phsyical violence or just plain malice to his car (writing a message on his car bonnet, a threat). Even if you do get off scott free which I hope you do....he hasn't learnt anything from this and thinks he can get away with lieing like that, no matter how much it might affect others.
On another note, only had one near off with a pedestrian. Outside my uni, 2 lanes on my side, busses stopped on left hand side lane so I go to the right of my lane and at the last moment someone runs across. Managed to swerve maybe 2cm but still clipped him hard with my mirror which didn't budge much. Hope it hurt, you nob. Have to remember that, people are...generally....very stupid. |

The worst are those drunken fools coming out of the bars/clubs at night in Central London.
One time I was coming back late from somewhere (forgot where lol) and was travelling along Shaftesbury Avenue towards Piccadilly Circus and there were a group of fuckers crossing the road from a bar. Most made it across but two of the guys were walking in slow motion. You know how they time it so that when you pass them, there body/foot is just inches from your wheels, well this is what he was doing. This guy was trying to show off to his mates and decided to pretend to throw himself forward (as if to cause an accident). I was already expecting him to be a twat though and so I just rolled passed him normally, making him look like an even bigger retard.
If he wants to jump out in front of my bike then he is the one who will come out worse, fucking fool. |
