To be honest, I reckon sticking discs on a CG125, then pulling a stoppie, will give a good chance of snapping the headstock...

They are pretty spindly forks, and it's not the most hi-tech of frames... not really designed for the braking force disks can offer...

I know it's not what you want to hear, but I'd recommend getting a bike that can handle it

I've experienced the cg's stopping, uhh, prowess (zim has one) and it's very scary how little braking there is. You should be able to fit a front end from an sr125 (forks, wheel, disc, caliper, master cylinder & hoses) to upgrade it to disc braking - you'd be looking at around £300 in parts from breakers - but as I know all to well sr125 forks and calipers are very scarce second hand.

I could sell you some of the bits from my spare bike, forks, master cylinder and hoses and a front wheel but to be honest you're better off saving for a bigger bike.

I'd get a different bike... the cg is a good alternative to a scooter and good transport but you don't want to be putting it under too much stress.
If you're looking for a cheap but better 125 consider a NS/TZR/RG etc from the late 80s. They can usually be picked up from around £500 and have plenty more go/stop than a cg.

Yeah id also go for summat with a disc as std. All the two stroke competitors to the CG are arguably better, and certainly quicker, (KH125,RXS100,GP125) but they are still just commuter bikes really. If you want cheap fun then an NS,RG,RD,AR125 all offer some speed and better handling and braking. Like G says you could pick up a cheap late 80's bike and spend a few quid sorting it out, so that you have a reliable, and fairly quick bike for little cash, in fact if your that way inclined then theres probably more tuning bits for the older 2 stroke sporty 125's as well, compared to more recent bikes, as well as plenty of stuff in breakers.
