Reading Toy Run 2006

Met up in the Foster Wheel car park, loads of bikes and quite a few Santas.

Even some Santas on MiniMotos

There were superbikes, scooters, cruisers, trikes and things not even pretending to be bikes

Some people went to quite a lot of effort to decorate their bikes

Some bikes even got costumes

I went for the more traditional gaffa tape (edit: No, I'm not blonde, that's my girlfriend)

The noise when all the bikes started was incredible! Riding down from Foster-Wheeler to Wokingham was amazing, crowds of people turned out to wave at the bikes all along the route. There was a permanent soundtrack of car alarms going off during the ride, set off by the ground shaking noise of thousands of bikes. All the side roads were closed off by police or other bikers. There was a real parade feel, really good fun.

Police presence was great, the cops I met were very friendly and chatty and not at all bothered by loud pipes/small plates/missing indicators.

Apparently over 2000 people turned up, and gave a present to a kid who otherwise wouldn't be expecting to get anything this christmas

A really fun day out, and rewarding knowing that bikers have helped spread a bit of christmas cheer.

I saw one starting last weekend not far from me, had 100+ bikes but as I was driving past in the car, I didn't get chance to stop and have a wander round Sad
