Scratch one nsr

Yesterday coming back from croydon along the brihgton rioad a car pulled out 3 meters in front of me when i was going at around 45mph, i just had enough time to swear and try to breka before i smashed into the side of it next to the wheel arch, The front fairing has been destroyed the forks are twisted round and the wheel was only stopped from being pushed further back by the snapped exhaust pipe. I went over the handle bars across the bonnet struck the windscreen with my helmet and shoulder spider webbing all of it before sliding over part of the roof and coming of the side, i then rolled 2 meters landed in a crouching position and stood up... before walking back over to check on the cars occupants.

The bike is destroyed, think its a total write off but i havnt got a scratch or a single bruise on me despite wearing just jeans, my akito jacket and a helmet with no back protector.

Now i have to make a claim off his insurance how do i go about doing it ?

Make sure he accepts liability first, coz if he doesn't it will mean you have to go to court, in which case you will probably need witnesses.

If this is all ok, and he accepts outright it was his fault, then you should have noted his insurance company and his name, etc at the scene in which case you just ring them up and they will tell you the steps you need to take.

Sorry to hear bout that minesweeper, but at least your ok (apart from that whiplash, of course!).

I cant really see that you should have any problems with liability, unless they can proove that you were speeding or summat. What was the limit?

i was over the milage limit but thats kinder not going to be possible to prove, the clocks are smashed to hell, putting the restrictor plate back in tonight, exhaust restrictor might prove difficult advice?

They might be able to tell from other things - skid marks, damage to the car etc.
My mate had a car pull out on him when he was filtering and the pigs prooved that he wasnt speeding from thise things.
As for the restrictors - I wouldnt bother. Theyre unlikely to check and as the power of the bike had no bearing on the accident there should be no grounds for the claim to be refused.

[rant]oi, i told you exactly what to do to make a claim against him. contact his insurance company and ask for a claims form. and as for you getting the restrictors in, you're never gonna do that! plus there's no need, the accident wasn't your fault.

At least put the restrictor plate back in. just to be safe. If you tell them thats there then there never gonna think theres one in the exhaust too.

i dont need to contact his insurance company choice quote are sending me the forms to fill in i send them to choice quote and they take steps to get the money, mike has put a price of 660 on all my gear, including the boots i was wearing which are fine but need a wash Smile
