my mate tried to change his head unit in his car, and managed to balls it up. none of the incar lights work now and neitherd oes the new head unit. i wasn;t there when he did it so could be other things wrong aswell.

he's checked the fuses, what else should he check? regards, Mike

What car is it?

I'd still be looking at the fuses.

Do the rest of the electrics work fine?

nissan micra N reg. 1997 i think that is. how can you tell if a fuse has blown? as he didn;t actually replace any. he said his friend just looked at them Confused

Take the relevent fuses out, hold them up to the light. Should be pretty obvious if their blown.

On a lot of recent cars, the cigar lighter, radio, clock & internal lights are all running through the same fuse (which makes me suspect the fuse).

my friend has done some searching on the net. he has come up with a whole list of fuses he can check.

and wnats to know what are the most likely fuses to have blown...

Inside...

ST signal,
room lamp,
stop lamp,
Horn,
FR FOG driver.L ,
HAzard lamp,
tail (RHD) Lamp,
Turn signal,
meter,
idle up,
eng control,
fuel pump,
air Bag,
heater blower,
audio,
rr wiper,
fr wiper,
cig lighter,
rr DEMist



under bonnet

RAD fan,
engine cont,
inhibit ,
CVT Cont ,
Idle Up,
air con

or...
FL30 A ABS MTR,
FL 30 A IGN SW.





so for the whole list, ive just copied and pasted most his email to me.

Was he cutting wires or did he do it the "proper" way and buy the right harness?

And he has checked ALL the fuses, and he does know what a blown fuse looks like!? Confused

he knows what a broken fuse looks like. i sent him the picture from above. i think he has checked the majority of them now.

not got a clue tbh on how he fitted it
