After seeing Titots video on youtube of a spud gun, I wondered how many people have made these beasts?
Not sure if I've posted it on here before, but here is mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ubKcBaBVJo
(note the "ow" as I get hit by the tennis ball in the night vis one )
Anyone made one before? ____________________ Current: Suzuki RG 125 Gamma, Honda H100, Triumph Tiger 800XC, Suzuki SV650 (minitwin)

I've got one. Blew itself apart the first few attempts until I got it glued properly. Scorched my fingers when it blew the piezzio ignitor out once.
I keep meaning to rig something up with a sparkplug and an ignition coil, or ideally an old magneto so I can get a good, healthy spark. That's what's letting it down just now. Only fires maybe one attempt in three. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

That's a really good video explaining how to make them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZZYZlvXO_o
Mine blew apart when I got round to trying to fire a spud - the back cap shattered. It made chips on a mesh fence though .
Tennis balls are good, mine could fire them a good 300m - note the pics of the garage door! The balls travel at 150+ mph!
[edit] I used lynx and a piezo gas hob lighter, glade air freshener gives a bloody big bang! ____________________ Current: Suzuki RG 125 Gamma, Honda H100, Triumph Tiger 800XC, Suzuki SV650 (minitwin) |

Folks.
Would a flash unit from a camera work, should get a good healthy spark from that... Just a big capacitor...
If I could remember anything from my HND i'd know this...
But I don't so... |

pretty good but this is a proper spud gun. its cheap, reliable, comes fully assembled, its iconic, you can hide it in your actionman lunchbox and theres nothing like getting a small lumps of potato in someones eye (cheese is quite a good ammo too).
