Hi guys,

well I picked up my 03 (2004 plate) R1 yesterday! its got 2800 miles on the clock and is in great condition..
I went from a GSXR750 K7 (written off) to this and the difference in riding position is vast... my wrists were killing me after 10 miles on the R1 Confused but I can already feel how much torque this bad boy has got, even though I was going steady on the new tyres...

getting a tail tidy and an Akra carbon exhaust next..

anyway, let me know what you think!

It appears to have a cat sticking out the side of it. That'll affect the aerodynamics.

I'm not jealous. Much. Mr. Green

Its those new EEC emission laws, all new bikes must have a cat as standard. Wink

Absolutely gorgeous! Although I'm not sure about the Cat Mod... Personally I'd have gone for a Yorkshire Terrier.

Aye wrist pain will go away, but more often than not it's bad positioning on the bike that causes it - are you leaning on your shoulders and putting the weight onto the bars thus putting the weight onto your wrists?? Try to hold yourself up with your back rather than leaning down onto your arms and it should get progressively easier as you get used to the bike.

you are probably right, think the position caught me by surprise at first as I expected it to be the same as the GSXR.... plus I have spent the last 2 months riding a VFR which is a tourer so I guess it was just a case of adjusting.. After a week I found the RR that I had to be the most comfortable bike I ever rode, felt very natural...

cheers, yeah I love it... I always try and buy black bikes when possible as all my gear is black as well, and its my favourite colour, but this caught my eye when it was first released and I have been a fan ever since..

It came out in america but with the black lower and white mid fairing instead of the euro white lower and black mid.... I might try and source a black lower at some point and see how that looks.

Very nice bike. Always found it funny when people sell pretty new bikes with a few thousand miles on and say there 'bored' of it or the new 07 bike will make them a faster rider. Confused

Enjoy it. Smile
