Ok, so we all know that it would be best to warm up 2-strokes before riding them, but does the same apply to 4-strokes?

Cheers,

Tin

I'd recommend warming up a four stroke bike through you wouldnt require anywhere as long as a two stroker. A minute tops should be enough depending on the bike, my zzr250 runs fine after about 45 seconds on 1/2 choke

If your after a large performace hike from the nsr look somewhere else, if your looking for a good next step with cheap insurance and stable performance try one out. Id recommend the zzr400 not much larger but will perform alot like the 600 just cheaper allround

max speed around 110mph ish havnt realy pushed it myself. Very comfortable and extremely smooth ride. The looks not for everyone but i think it looks like a much larger bike with its dual cans and nicely built in indicators. Fuel capacity is 20 litres which should get you around 200miles to the tank! oil costs are off course non exsistent incomparison to the nsr

This is my exact bike

anything else you want to know ask

How long are you supposed to warm a 2 stroke up for before riding it?

Hi

Personally I would ride off ASAP, as long as the engine is warm enough to be safe. Once riding it will warm up more quickly. When cold the clearances are all over the place, and that is why wear is occuring. Also, if you have the choke on then the extra petrol will was alot of the oil from the cylinder bores, again increasing wear

Personally I normall get everything on, sit on bike start engine and put it in gear and go, and doing this I can ( on the BAndit and the RS) normally get away without using the choke

All the best

Keith

i have a 100cc Sym Jet (Scooter) at the moment, ive never warmed that up, runs ok - should i be warming it up?

Also when you mention warming are you talking about being stationary and letting the engine idle or just driving steady away for a few mins? When i get my shiny new NSR i wanna know exactly how to treat it

I do similar to keith. I fire it up, choke for a few seconds if it needs it, put my hat and gloves on then go.

Hi

The important thing is to not thrash the engine until it is warm

All the best
