Are there any tips for getting the flow started? I've had it on prime for a week and its not dragging the oil through much at all! I've got the touring kit that sits behind the numberplate and took the vacumn from the petrl tap vacumn feed but doesn't seem to feed the oil through.

cheers

Dean

i had one with my bike and had a similar problem

when i looked more closely i realised the tube is blocked with gunk i think

i still havnt got around to clearing this out, and unfortunately a mechanic disconnected my scottoiler when fixing something else as he thought the scottoiler was causing a problem (it wasnt)

so if the scott oiler came with your bike, see if the tube near the reservoir is blocked with white gunk

I hope you've not been riding it on prime, as if it does actually start, you'll piss oil everywhere!

The HCR can be a shit - have you pumped it all the way through? You should set prime, then (using the filler bottle) pump the oil until it starts coming down the tube onto the chain. Once thats done, set prime back to 2 or 3, fire up the bike, and have a look see.

It's two fold - if you've fitted the vacuum adaptor correctly, it should draw oil along - and wheel spinning helps a bit as well IIRC.

If you have any bad connections on the tubing, you'll either get air drawn in, or the thing will just loose it's oil.

I'd suggest you check all your connections, and then make sure you actually have the vacuum adaptor fitted correctly - you could always disconnect the black line and put your finger over the end to see if you get any suck, so to speak Smile

ScottOiler tech support are very helpful and may be worth giving a call.
