as i thought it was about time i got myself some boots and trousers i found these on the net

https://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y205/slider2/Stock_10400000001.jpg
swift race boots, £30 from j+s accesories

https://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y205/slider2/Imola-Pants.jpg
buffalo imola pants, waterproof, thermally lined and with armour, again £30, this time from busters.

the boots arrived today, and seem very good value for money, hopefully the trousers will be ok too.
but to be honest for £30 each even if they last me till summer i still reckon its worth it Smile

If busters previous performances are anything to go by then the pants will probably arrive just in time for summer Razz

But seriously, at that price you cant go wrong Thumbs Up

hi there

the boots look the same as some nitro boots i recently bought, same design- branded differently? Anyway, i know this might sound stupid but remember that the panel on the front of the boot is material only and won't hold out the elements!!!

I managed to fill the bottom of the boot full of water the other day when it was raining, helpfully it soaked through...goning to go and buy somewaterproof boots now!!!

Take care

jo

Beware the zip on the buffalo's. Had mine a week and spent 15mins this morning trying to get the zip back on. It is a very soft metal and it sort of opens up and detaches itself. I have plier'd it back on but they will be going back if it happens again.

A nice trooser aprt from that. Havent really rain tested them yet. Hold up to showers fine.

I've got the same trousers. Mine are a tad too short. And watch out the pockets on the velcro. The bond between the two bits of velcro is stronger than the stitching between the velcro and the trousers.

So instead of the 2 bits of velcro coming apart, the bottom bit just rips off the trousers.

I may have a duff pair.

I also got my knee down and ripped a hole in the knee Sad Suppose that's my own fault though.

EDIT: On the waterproof front they're ok. They're good through most sorts of rain. But prolonged hammering it down will soon see them leak around the crotch. That first drip...it's the worst.

No sliders on the boots, be careful.

I'd forget me and end up leaning too far over.

went out for a 40 mile ride today and i have to say i feel a lot more comfortable and confident wearing proper boots and trousers (as opposed to jeans and cat boots)
the trousers kept me warm and dry, but to be fair it wasnt exactly cold today.
it was both my irst ride of the year, and my first ride after my little crash last month AND the first time ive ridden in the wet for years! - i was expecting to be a bit nervous, but all was fine and i really enjoyed it Thumbs Up
