MOT question?

Right, I may have asked this in a roundabout way before, but I've got a bit more info to had now, so might be able to get more advice.

I've got to tax my Fazer at the end of the month, which isn't a problem. However... It'll be due its first MOT this year. What I need to know is...

As the tax runs out on the 31st of this month (January) will I need to get it MOT'd to tax it, seeing as the bike was first registered by the dealership I bought it from on the 23rd of February?

Do I have a month's grace before needing to get the MOT done, or should it fall into line with this Tax?

Just wondering as I can't get it anywhere to MOT it at present, which is why I asked about SORN'ing it the other week.

If I don't have to worry about the MOT for a couple of more weeks I'll just tax it as usual anyway.

No.
You'll need MOT before taxing it next year though (assuming you still have the bike). If selling private before that (rather than trade-in) also consider getting the MOT as it'll ease the sale and not put punters off.

You can tax it for 12months now as you have a valid MOT (as bike is <3years old.) When you decide to MOT it just book it in then you can ride it to the MOT station.
You dont need a MOT for the full period of tax you only need a valid MOT at the time of taxing.
