Quote:
The motorcycle entitlement on provisional motorcycle licences issued before 1 February 2001 expires after 2 years. The law has now changed and holders of these licences can apply to have the licence replaced with one that will include provisional motorcycle entitlement valid to age 70. Replacement licences should be applied for from DVLA using the normal application forms (available from Post Offices).

No, it was the Provisional entilitlement on your licence, it used to last 2 years, now it lasts till ur 70, so you could just ride a 14hp all ur life on a CBT.

I think in the past if you had a car license you could just jump onto either a 125 or a moped (can't remember which) with L plates without any kind of training.

The current car licence goes as follows:

If you got your full car licence before 2001 then you can ride a 50cc moped that doesnt go any faster than 31mph without a CBT, but displaying L plates.

If you past after 2001 (Feburary) then you need to take a CBT to ride any bike upto 125cc (14bhp)

CBT to drive a car, hehehe, would make car drivers see things from our point nof view!!! They used to be able to jump on a moped, but i thiught that now they had to do the CBT???

Ahhh now I understand. OK, if you took our Car test before February 2001 then you can ride a 50cc without Ls on your car liscence.
However, after this date you have to take a CBT to ride any bike/moped on Ls.

Would be a good idea for car drivers to at least have to do some of the CBT before they can drive on the road - would give them a better road sense and see things from our point of veiw.
