Been cleaning her up today, with a misting or two of Muc Off, a bit of brushing here an' there, and a hosing-down after. I started her up, just to help me dry her off... sat on the floor with a towel to get to the bottom bits, and without thinking I decided to dry off the gear lever, knocked her into gear and she lurched forward and fell - half on my legs, half on the ground. It's only a CBR125 so it ain't as heavy as some, but I'm still a novice with these things and it's certainly more than I'm used to liftin by meself.

'Im indoors is rinsin' it proper loud and can't hear me yellin', but after a bit of tuggin and shiftin I'm out, and she's lyin on the floor in a dirty puddle - a very sorry sight indeed Sad I took hold of that triangular shaped metal thingy (??) and the bars and heaved her back up (took me ages!) and sat her on the side stand again.

There's very little obvious damage - just a few teeny scratches on the mirror, and the left footpeg's bent (I've straightened it up a bit, but it's not unusable). I had a bit of bother starting her up again, had to open the choke fully and fire her up a couple of times (even tho she'd just been running for about 5 mins) and she spluttered quite a bit. I might be imagining it, but she still doesn't sound quite right.

Now - in hindsight, it was a silly thing to do. BUT, in the past, whenever I've tried to put her into gear forgetting that the side stand was still down, she's cut out. I don't know why she didn't this time, perhaps cos the clutch wasn't engaged? And so how did I get her out of gear without engaging the clutch?

Could there be anything else wrong which isn't obvious to the naked eye? Fluids or leaks or such? Should I get her to a garage for a check-up?

dry her off completely, leave her for a while(maybe a day) and see if there is any fluid where you know you dried it up.

after a drop, every bike will have a phase of not starting, it's to do with flooding etc, and not sure about not sounding right, but wouldn't surprise me if that was due to it falling over.

You will probably find that if you catch the gear lever it will lurch forward before it has chance to cut its own engine, this is pretty normal behaviour. Without you engine running you should be able to go up and down the gearbox without touching the clutch. All the clutch does is disengages the drive from the engine into the gearbox, so without the engine running you can go through the gears without a problem.
