the frame is exactly the same, the subframe is slightly different,
the hyosung was made with suzukis help (officially) along with a few other models.
i can only assume that the head stock is the same as the rest of the bike is, (why change that one bit and chance altering proven handling)

Has anyone put the gs engine in the Hyosung? Would make sense to me...about 10x better looking than the GS. Laughing Thumbs Up (although yours is rather unique hmmmnz Wink)

watch it sonshine Razz

Hyosung 125 engine probably makes more power.

Slightly OT, the GT650 uses the SV650 frame I think, it looks like a lot of bike for £3995 new.

And it is. But you can get the SV650 (and S) just as cheap if not £100 cheaper if you look hard enough. For a better finish and more reliable parts back-up, you'd be a bit barmy to choose the Hyosung (even though I am supporting Hyosung and other Korean bikes...I hope they make it big. Thumbs Up ). Build quality on the Hyosung will improve over the years though, that's pretty much guaranteed.

But the SV650 looks almost as pap as the Fazer, the GT650R looks awesome.

Not after a UK winter I bet. Laughing

It's got USD forks which is an immediate Thumbs Down for me. Hell of a lot harder to replace fork seals and more expensive if you let someone else do it.

Plus, the words, cheap, tacky and bland spring to mind when I see this:

https://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2005models/2005-Hyosung-GT650Rf.jpg

They ploughed a lot of money into R&D but not enough in my book. That screen looks more useless than an early yamaha r1 screen. Laughing

id have to agree the gs is a fairly ugly bike (ive just added insult to injury with mine Very Happy)
the gs engine should drop straight in, and it is more powerfull than the gt engine, my thinking is why not drop in a larger v twin in there Thumbs Up

Typically when designing a bike for a fore/aft V twin you have to do a lot of fiddling around. Get the front cylinder our of the way of the front wheel and the rear cylinder gets in the way of the rear suspension.

The GS was designed around a parallel twin - how is the frame going to accomodate a fore/aft V? Wink

The naked gt650 is £3599 OTR, the full sports version (which does look the dogs bollocks) is £3999 OTR.

Considering you can't even get a fully faired SV without going down the options route, the GT650R is cheaper. And more powerful.

Hyosung were a sub contracter for Suzuki, and no doubt quite a lot of suzukis were actually built by Hyosung.

Hi

Check on bikepics.

The Hyosung frame is about the same shape as the GS500, but loads of differences.

Engine mounts are in different places for a start.

All the best

Keith
