My brother was nice enough to get me some black renthal ultralow bars for christmas so I finally got around to getting them on the bike... while I was at it I got some new mirrors to replace the ridiculously huge standard chrome ones.
Yesterday I went for a little ride up into the hills to test them out (and take some pics for my brother) and I have to say I'm impressed.

The Before Shot:

And After:

They're not that much lower but they are noticeably wider and the extra leverage makes the bike feel like it turns in quicker, smaller inputs on the bars are needed to make it turn which is great for the tight twisty roads I ride. In town I have a little more weight on my wrists but I feel like I have a much better idea of what the front tyre is doing now.

If you have a hornet/bandit or any other upright naked bike I'd recommend giving them a go, for me its been an easy way to spice up my bike a little and alter the riding experience for very little cost (especially for me, since I didn't buy em Smile ).

Standard Hornet exhaust looks excellent imo. Thumbs Up

Quite like the renthals but if they are wider than stock then I'd never get them through my side door into the back Smile

I don't mind the stock exhaust, its a bit big but the heat shield is useful, you can rest panniers on it without worrying about them melting and pillions are less likely to burn themselves on it.

In an ideal world I'd fit one of these de pretto moto items:

.... in reality, when I can afford it, I might go for a blueflame single port in either titanium or carbon fibre Thumbs Up or at a stretch, akrapovic Drooling

Thanks Thumbs Up
The weathers still very mild here, sometimes even warm, best of all there's very little rain. Those pictures were taken on sunday when the weather forecast said it was about 18 degrees (maximum, at midday).

Today its supposed to be a high of 13 degrees. The annoying thing is its still nice and sunny here during the day, usually warm enough to eat lunch outside without a coat, but its bloody cold in the morning and at night...so I ride to and from work in the cold and I'm stuck in the office all day looking at the sun shining outside the window. I've been taking the bike out at lunchtime to try to compensate Smile
