Been with them for a little over 3 years now.Never made any claims so dont know if they handle things like i`d expect them to.
Breakdown recovery has been spot on though...used it twice so far and both times someone was with me in under 1 hour.
Thought they were a bit unreasonable when i changed bikes 4 weeks before a policy ended.I hoped they`d carry over my no claims but they refused so i had to lose a full year for cancelling early.
Might be wrong here but do carole nash actually do their own insurance? The last 3 policys i`ve got with them were actually through other companies.Aren`t they just "middle men"? |

Thanks, the only other report I have heard about CN was positive. It sounds like I should make sure I get stuff in writing when dealing with them. |

Carole Nash was a great company in its early days in the 80s, when they just dealt with bikes. Now they're just another load of corporate arseholes.
Mate of mine was insured with CN and his policy included free breakdown cover. Only when he broke down (in sub-zero temperatures) and phoned RAC, they said he wasn't covered Cost him a fortune to call out a 24/7 recovery service, and CN refused to do anything about it, despite admitting they'd fucked up.
Wouldn't touch them myself. |

They didn't put my bikes on the police national insurance database, so I flagged up as uninsured.

Personally I think insurance brokers are pretty much-a-much, but this is my personal experience with Carole Nash.
I've been with them for 3 years, but I've just purchased a new policy (Equity Red Star) from Motorcycle Direct.
Carole Nash recently quoted £226 fully comp (inc. rescue/recovery, personal injury, legal assistance) I got a basic policy for £102 from Motorcycle Direct, bought a top-up on my car recovery from Britannia Rescue for £20 and have legal assistance for free elsewhere.
If you want a policy that does everything, then yes it's a "good" thing, but every quote includes the mandatory extras @ £39, ins tax, and a £10 broker fee, so the price for the policy was around £167, £65 more than the same policy (Equity Red Star) from another broker.
I've used their rescue/recovery service and have to say it's very good, but they do sub-contract out to SOS motorcycles, as do several other insurance companies and Brittania Rescue, so you can get the same cover elsewhere.
I've also used their claims service and have to say I was a little disappointed, they did very little to help me once in the hands of their approved "no win no fee" solicitors, Pannone LLP.
I even had to call the underwriters myself to get my excess reimbursed, and when my no-claims bonus was reinstated they took an eternity to forward a cheque. ____________________ My claim to fame: Austin Vince nicked my pen...

The legal assistance cover is in my opinion a bit of a con. If you tell the brokers that you will not pay for it as it should be included for free,
and that you will take the legal assistance cover from the brokers only if they give it to you as "a good will gesture to ensure you come back again" you get it for nothing ____________________ It`s all powerfull white mans magic
