Earplug Performance - Highest SNR?

What's the highest SNR you've found for earplugs? What brand/model are they? Is SNR are sensible yard stick to measure performance by or is it just a claim that manufacturers use to make their product look better? Can I expect good performance from real life scenarios?

I've not found/tried anything better; they are definitely better than some others I've used with lower ratings.
There may be better out there, these just work for me and are pretty cheap.

Highest SNR isn't the only consideration. Some ear plugs dampen some frequencies more and allow others (like human speech) less.

The problem is that wind noise is insidious in that it doesn't appear particularly annoying being a kind of 'white' noise but it's just as damaging as other loud noises you could not bear to suffer constantly.

I hasten to add that I have just finished a huge box of ear plugs that I've been using for 3+ years and for my entire biking career I've used earplugs.

I'm merely looking to buy another huge box full but I just want to check I'm buying ones with the highest protection.

One option is to buy a variety pack from ebay - something like this to try different types for yourself. That way you don't buy a huge box of something that doesn't work with your ears.

I've found that the fit of an earplug is by far the most important factor, if it doesn't fit snugly every time then it won't work properly all the time. But the only way to know what works for you is try a load of different ones.

I've used Howard Leight Quiet plugs for a long time but if I use them every day for over a year (such as commuting) they eventually pack the wax into my ear, which is bad. I've now taken to nicking the odd packet of Laser Lites from work but they don't always fit properly, and putting on a helmet can easily pull them out again. But when they do work they block out a lot more noise than the Quiets.

They block out about as much noise as my Peltor ear defenders that I wear airside around jet engines
