my aim was the end of march but the cars just been serviced and they say it needs a new cam belt, tensioners, waterpump and brakes so thats about -£600 that i wasnt expecting. Hopefully by the end of april now. Crying or Very sad

I'd have gone satin black. Might be just the flash, but the pics seem to show a lot of orange peel/over painting?

Looks like powdercoat to me. If that was paint, i'd be after a refund!

The paint does look a little rough in the pics, could just be the camera bringing out the niggles.

yep its powdercoat. The finish isnt bad but the pics make it look worse. If i had paid top wack for it i would have not been happy at all but i only paid £20 for it all to be shot blasted and coated so i cant complain. Its certainly a big improvement over the chipped off white and pink tape anyway!

If it was mine and that came back from the powdercoaters, I wouldn't have been happy. £5 worth of paint from Halfrauds went a long way with my little project.

update:

time is ticking on and i still havent got it finished. After the paint thread on here with the guy painting his bike red/orange with household gloss i thought id try it. First coat on inside and out of fairings and it looks a but rough but once thats sanded, a thinner second coat is put on and then some laquer it shoud be ok. Certainly ok for my tracking/scratching/plaything.

yep!
Without knowing if the bike is actually a good ride or not i decided against the pro paint route. Them pics mostly show the insides of the fibreglass fairings hence the matting but when on flat pannels the gloss smooths itself. When sanded and a thinnered layer of gloss is put on i think it will look alright. If it doesnt, ill send it off to be painted. its only cost £6 to try it at the end of the day.
I also need to get it mot'ed and registered. having it registered involves having the colour put on the log book which before paint would have been, errm, mulit coloured!
Its a project bike so i can try these things and not be worried.

paint looks terrible, bloody awful. No point pretending to you it looks good.

I could have done a better job with a paint brush, respray it all satin black, almost impossible to get a bad finish with. looks better too.

Don't think the fairings are bad tbh, the really really shitty looking pic is the inside of the fairings I think?

I think with a bit of sanding and some thinner and laquer it'll look fine.
