Ok, so the wind blew my bike over yesterday leaving me with a nice bent (forwards) clutch lever. I haven't tried to pull it back in place yet as I'm not sure how to go about it without snapping it. It's on an 06 RS125, just my luck as I am selling it tomorrow. Help would be appreciated folks.

P.S. How easy is it to take a link out of a chain? I have a link extractor. If the chain is too tight can the link be put back into the chain again?

Thanks Thumbs Up

If your chain has stretched so much that you need to take a link out, then I'd replace the chain!

I'll be brief because I have to go work in a minute.

Bending levers:
Put it in a vice.
Rub it all over with a bar of soap.
Apply heat with a blowlamp to the area you want to bend.
The soap burns off leaving soot. When the soot glows red, the alloy is just about to melt.
Slide a bar over the end of the lever and REALLY slowly bend it to where you want it while still applying heat (the alloy should be almost putty soft).
Don't be too fussy, bend it once to roughly where you want it and leave it at that.

Slowly back off the heat.
When cool, heat it up again and slowly cool.
Repeat.

Now refit it and try really hard to break it, you want to find out now.

It might break anyway.

Thanks very much, especially Stinkwheel for that walkthrough Thumbs Up

Was all set up until I found out the bloody blowtorch was playing up wasn't going to full power. Stood for about 15 minutes heating the lever and the soap didn't even go black Laughing Ended up throwing the head up and bought a new lever at £15. Lovely, worth the lack of hassle Laughing
