im new to biking and want a 125cc motorbike, but im stuck at the choice of getting either a - Honda NSR, Cagiva Mito, or the Aprilia RS
Any suggestion on which one would be the better option? ( And is it true that a honda NSR has better acceleration than any other 125cc motorbike?)

The Mito looks better, the Honda is probably the best built.

I'd go for whichever takes your fancy. But as with any nd hand 2 stroke try to get one with reciepts for rebuilds etc depending on it's mileage.

Hi

Different points in each others favour. NSR probably has the most reliable engine, but the electrics are a weak point, worse than the RS. Mito is the best looking, and probably the best designed. NSR best for new spare parts, RS for 2nd hand spare parts.

Doubt the NSR is the fasted accelerating 125. Several hp down on an early RS125. However the early RS is quite high geared which is a pain from a standstill (difficult to move off at an acceptable speed, rather than dawdling off or taking off very rapidly and noisily).

All the best

Keith

Having had the NSR for nearly two years the only problem I've had to date is with the Electrics as Keith/Kickstart has mentioned...

It's a good bike imo, roomy enough unless you want to get your head behind the screen then I have to sit on the pillion seat and I'm only 5' 9", pretty good from a standing start but the turning circle is shite...

Easy enough to get spares either second hand or new...Try David Silver Spares or Bitzforbikes for new or Ebay or here for seconds...

Having never had any of the others I can't comment but you wont go far wrong with Keiths advice mate...

HTH... Thumbs Up

if you want flat out speed the rs and mito top out about 100-110 but i would still go for the nsr as it is a better made bike and isnt slow for a 125 but its up to you.... however what i have found the rs is the cheapist then the nsr and then the mito (but you can always find a bargin) just what i have found from biketrader in my area. if you do get the aprilla be prepered to pay a tidy sum for parts... i would go for the honda if i was you but its all down to you Thumbs Up
