will it be ok to ride 4miles(2 there, 2 back) with this amount of oil in the gearbox(see crap pic below) il be going to pick up some light gearbox oil at the bike shop(SGT's wimbledon) and would like to know weather i sould ride the bike or take the push bike?

just imagin this is the oil dipstick below with the levels marked out.
<-->
`! !--- upper oil level
`! !--- lower oil level

the actual oil level on the real dipstick is about half a centimeter from the end of the dipstick.

you must have some old car oil lying about.
chuck that in it,
it should be fine either way, i take it you are riding a 2smoke, as you said the gearbox oil and not the engine oil,

As long as it's on the dipstick you're fine. Level taken with the bike upright and don't screw it in.Just offer it up to the threads.

its on the dipstick when i screw it all the way in, if i just offered it to the threads there would be no oil on the dipstick.

You're a bit low then. Not a major prob for a few miles. Just don't abuse the clutch.
