hi

some girl went into the back of me on her vespa this morning. it wasn't a hard impact, (no damage) and i have the feeling she was going over anyway due to the wind.

any how. i stayed on my bike and the amblance took her away. the police said this seemed like a single person fault accident and told everyone to move on.

now i think about it. do you think i should go to the police to inform them of this. just incase she wakes in hospital and decides to try to blame me?

i also would like to contact her in some way as i feel ever so worried about this.

i don't think the police talked to any witnesses whatso ever.

I wouldn't worry about it too much but it couldn't do any harm if you did contact them...

If you are involved in an accident where somebody gets hurt, whether it's your fault or not, you are legally bound to contact the police and inform them of the incident.

If I were you, I'd just pop down your local station and show your face. Explain what had happened and that you were concerned an officer didn't talk to you this morning. They'll no doubt take a statement as it was serious enough to put her into hospital (even if it was just to get checked over).

As has been said before me. I would make sure the police know the details. It will set your mind at rest at least.

You might as well write it down yourself just so that you have it straight and then you can just hand it in to the local police. Save them and you some time. Thumbs Up

Just report it, take your documents with you.

The guy on duty on the desk wont give a shit, he's only interested in how long it is 'til his next tea break. He'll scribble your details down in the book and give you a scrap of paper with an incident log report number on it.

Keep this scrap of paper, then if anyone tries to do you for failure to stop and report, you can wave it in their face and blow raspberries at them.

I would expect the police would have rather a hard time doing you for not reporting if they were also at the scene and didn't take any details etc.

You need to let your insurance know about this, If the other person tries it on they will need to be involved.

To cover yourself I would suggest you attend your local police station and explain what has happened. Any damage to your bike at all?

it might be an idea to get your bike checked over at your local dealer, just incase there is anything wrong with your bike. you don't know what she may have done to your bike.after all she hit you from behind, and you weren't looking there when she hit. it may look ok through your eyes Shocked , but there just might be something wrong.
hope you got her insurance details? Confused just in case.
lets hope she is ok. Thumbs Up

Me and my mates were being idiots around a few empty streets wheelies etc.

We cam up to a junction to turn left nothing coming and I carried on forward looking left the min I turned my head straight my mate had stopped I hit him right on the back wheel with some force, it knocked him off the side of his bike and it landed on him.

It took us ages to stop laughing and pick the bike up off him Laughing

although I did feel bad as it knocked his wheel out of alignment.
