ive been told after braking in a new cylinda and pistons etc i should change my rings after 500 miles!

ive never heard this anywere before so should i listen????

i'd have to say no, dont listen, i have done various 2 smoke rebuilds and have never done that,
mabee under racing circumstances thats the thing to do,... but i can't say i've ever heard of any one doing it,

depends on the bike, if you have a dtr or something like me then nah can leave it for 12000 miles. but if ya change the rings you need to run them in again anyway.

If you change the rings you will need to hone or sand the barrel to wear
in the new rings as the new rings are not to run on a run in barrel.
New rings are ment to wear in so they will not wear in right on a
barrel that has been run in.
