Guys,

i'm facing a bit of a predicament here. My bike is experiencing very bad handling problems which causes the rear to step out in corners. I've taken it to my mechanics who noted that my rear shock doesn't return fully and more or less sags down by about 30mm or so. Anyway, that's not the problem as i've been told i need a new rear shock. The bearings were regreased but i'd need new bearings and bushings come MOT time though. My mechanic said it would be fine for the time being, but the key thing to sort out first was the rear shock.

So if anybody happens to know useful links or support from anybody regarding the dimensions of a ZXR250C rear shock, i'd be eternally grateful. I have done my best in trying to phone Hagon, where they have given me the dimensions for a ZXR250 shock, but it's for the A model. I'm sure that there's somebody out there that has had dealings with kawasaki spare parts in japan, because essentially that's who need to contact.

I just want my bike to work fine Sad

why dont you measure yours with the bike on the center stand and shock fully extented, and then ask someone on ebay what the dimensions are for their zxr 250 400 600 750 shock, as long as it fits into your mounting points and is approx the same lenth it'll be fine, the smaller zx bikes always had sloppy shocks,

I've phoned Elliott's Motorcycles who import these bikes and they have told me that the shocks are rebuildable since they have a machining facility and spring dynamometer. I've found the shock specifications off some australian breaker, but the cheapest bet will be to get my whole shock rebuilt completely. Reason why i couldn't measure the dimensions was because the workshop at the uni is closed and i've got nothing by which i could suspend the bike with when i remove the shock. It's not the bushes cos they got regreased and did tests by lifting the rear wheel to check for play but there wasn't.
