Well I dont really use this forum anymore, but I thought Id post some of my bike up anyway! Its a 2005 ZX636R, shes got full R&G protection, Pyramid Black headlight covers, TailTidy, 8x6 License Plate, and ValterMoto rearset risers! So she looked like this when i bought her back in November:

https://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f62/doodlebug37/28-10-06_1659.jpg
https://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f62/doodlebug37/28-10-06_1700.jpg

Then 4 days later on my first ride, she looked like this:

https://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f62/doodlebug37/11-11-06_1316.jpg

Then only this month, Shes now back to former glorly and looks like this!

https://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f62/doodlebug37/Photo-0033.jpg

So thats my little story! Take care - Dale

Well Kawasakis are traditionally green, or at least recently it seems that way (waiting for a smart arse to say the company colour is actually red).

That colour is unofficially known as 'Gay Champagne' Wink

It's called that to wind up everyone on www.mcninjas.co.uk with that colour, and usually works well.

Hi

Not green, so suggests you have some sense of colour Wink .

From what I have heard, Kawasaki were after a colour that would be obvious for their race bikes. All the reasonable colours were already used, so they used a foul lime green.

All the best

Keith

Another vote for black from me - but only because a black Kwak is what I have at the moment. Thumbs Up ....and because I purposely didn't want green

Yeah I dont really like the green either, but the gay champange is quite nice, bit bland but still very nice. I would stick a vote in for orange or black ZX-9R not the 6.

Nice bike, even in the "gay champagne" Wink

Of course, green ones are faster...

Any future plans for it?

He's on about shifting it on and getting a new R6...

He doesn't feel confident on the 636 corner wise so he's going to try different settings on the suspension first to see if that helps...

Yep thinking about trading her in for an R6. The 636 isnt flowing like I feel it should, going to give her afew weeks, but if nothing changes.. shes off.

What makes you think it's the bike's fault? Why would an R6 be different? Genuine questions.

I dont think it is the bikes fault as such, you know how sometimes a rider just wont get along with a bike? Its like that, it just doesnt seem to suit me. I ride in a big group of lads and have no problem being the front runner, but its like im fighting the bike all the time rather than it all just flowing how it did on my old ZXR400. I dont know if an R6 will be any different, but thers only one way to find out!

Have you ridden other 100hp+ bikes?

More power makes it relatively harder to 'thrash'.

More importantly, I'd say a good suspension setup makes more difference than changing bike in a lot of cases!

Ive ridden my old mans 02' R1 in anger and if im being honest it felt easier than the 636! Maybe thats due to not needing to corner at 10,000rpm?

Hi

Given the costs, take it along to someone who knows what they are doing with suspension and get them to give you some help. Could be that you have gone totally wrong with the adjustments.

£100 on that is a lot cheaper than the costs of buying another bike / trade in losses / advertising.

A lot of track days will have someone there doing suspension. If you are stuck wander along to one as a spectator and get it done there. They won't care whether you are doing the day or not, as long as you are paying.

All the best

Keith
