can anybody help me please. im begining to think that my 2002 nsr isnt starting because ive possibly got the pipe locations wrong. please could somebody tell me which pipes go onto the two nipples on the left hand side of the engine and also the nipple on the back of the engine near the carb. i also need to know where the long pipe ontop of the water bottle goes because ive just realised it going to nothing. ive also got an unused nipple on the bottom of the carb but theres no petrol coming out because ive got the screw tightened all of the way up. is this wrong? i appreciate any clues or gueses cheers in advance for you help guys |

The only one i can answer is the long one on top of the water bottle. It will be an overflow pipe.If the bottle gets too full it will simply drain out onto the floor and is nothing to worry about.Just make sure it's not over full and it should hardly ever be in use.
One pointer though.Make sure it feeds out safely and not sitting on top of electrics or rear tyre etc
I have set mine on my zx10 to run out just under the right hand footpeg because i didnt like it over the back wheel by the chain. ____________________ Check out our tackle shop on Facebook:

One coming off coolant tank is a breather / overflow. It should dangle down the back of the engine so if it overflows it drips out onto the road.
Nipple on bottom of carb is floatbowl breather... this should dangle down back of engine to drip onto floor also.
Nipple on back of engine near the carb is also a breather.
Basically, there should be a single thin pipe going from engine to carb, and another pipe going from oil tank to engine - this is the oil feed. All other smallish nipples of the same size, both on the carb and on the engine, are merely breathers / surplus to requirements.
Anything substantially larger than a "small" nipple should generally have a coolant hose attached as it's part of the coolant circuit - altho you'd know if this was the case as coolant would gush out of it. ____________________ FAB-Racing MiniMotoSidecars - Back with a vengeance - F1 Class 2011...
