was out on the drive this morning, fixing the car, when i heard a commotion from across the street.
looked up and theres a little girl about 8 or 9 walking her little collie type dog with her middle aged mum, and the dog is being bothered by this stocky pitbull type dog, that must have got out from someones garden due to the wind blowing some fences down. the mum tries to pull her dog away but the pitbull is still having ago and is starting to snap at her. then it manages to get a jaw grip on the other dogs upper front leg and gets right stuck in, dragging it and shaking it about.
its obvious the mum cant do anything and its getting rapidly worse, so i run over and try to drag the dog off, but its moving to quick and growling and scratching out at us. i struggle with it for a bit before managing to get hold of it with both hands by its ears, and it lets go witrh a yelp when i lift it right off the floor by its ears, still flailing away with its claws, so i smack it into the ground, stick my right knee between its shoulderblades to pin it down with what weight i have and gather up the scruff of its neck into my right fist, so tight that its starting to choke, which stops it struggling.
i walked it off down the road to where i think it came from and chucked it into the owners front garden. i reckon it weighed about as much as my 7 y.o son, i was only able to chuck it about 6 feet. thankfully it stayed where it was and didnt turn on me.
back with the other dog, its wimpering and cant walk as its leg is all chewed up, and the mother and little girl are both quite shaken.
somehow i managed to get not even a scratch, its only sitting here afterwards i realise it could have been very nasty, but then you cant just stand back and watch.
the dad has just been round to express his thanks and im expecting a visit from the dog warden to take a statment.
why people keep these kind of dogs is beyond me. im sure they will say its soft and soppy and wont hurt anyone, but thats fine untill it does, they are born to kill, arent they? ____________________ 1988 TZR125 : 1990 RD350YPVS/ RGV250 HYBRID : 1982 RD80LC : 1983 RD80LC : 1994 RGV250 : 1991 TZR125 / CR500R HYBRID : 1976 BENELLI 500 QUATTRO : 2006 TRIUMPH 675 |

Hero Gavin..!
I was hoping that story wasn't going to end with you having some crap attempt to get it of but being scared to hurt it. Top man. Even better that you managed to stop from killing it, I think I would have picked up the closest metal bar and sunk it into its skull. Wouldn't have even tried to man handle it.
Top marks. |

Well done you Gavin, shows you got balls. Being a dog lover and the owner of a collie I think I would have done similar in your situation, however, I would have been landing a size ten Cat boot right on the dogs ribs.
Hope the dog warden and the local council take the owners of the pitbull to the cleaners. Why would you let your dog out knowing the fence used to contain the animal was damaged and not capable of securing the dog.

Nicely done fella.
I've got a collie myself and they are the nicest creatures you'll ever come across. Mine's been on the receiving end of some aggro from a couple of alsations that live near me (fortunately the owner's been able to drag them off) and even in those situations he's never going to do any worse than growl at them, there's just no violence in him.
As instigator says, well done for chucking it back into the owners garden rather than killing it, as I'm not sure I could use such restraint if anything was attacking mine. (Not to mention the fact I'd rather kick the thing to bits than risk manhandling it.)
Hopefully the collie recovers from the ordeal alright, they can be very sensitive even about the smallest of things. ____________________ Photos and that |

Oh god... Here we go.....
When I'm out walking Chav I have people crossing the road pointing out the 'Baby-Killing Pitull' on the end of his (relatively) short lead yet he's not at all 'big or butch'

You all seem to want to appear as an intelligent people yet you are blinded by ignorance, jumping on the media-hyped bandwagon without knowing the full facts. Trying to educate people like yourselves if difficult enough with the 'big butch dog' mentality that Chav's are portraying without people who clearly don't have a clue labelling INNOCENT animals.

I'm with Dan on this one...
Blame the owners not the dogs eh? They do what they are trained to do. Responsible owners should NOT be tarred with the same brush as people who have no control over their animals.
EDIT: Forgot to say.... Well done for being all big n brave - it's not a nice thing for a mum and her young daughter to be seeing, no matter WHAT BREED has attacked. ____________________ Funny, I used to hate being spanked as a child!

Lozzypop, some dogs are naturally aggressive and others aren't. You're dead right that with good training they can usually be turned into very well behaved dogs but it does require a lot of work and my experience is that many of the people who are attracted to these kinds of dogs aren't going to bother putting the effort in. I'm not tarring all owners with the same brush but it seems to me that with dogs like pitbulls and alsations you're better off assuming the worst. ____________________ Photos and that |

are well forgetting the owner pitbull that killed the little girl was drug dealer and that been reported for attacked other dogs in the past and nothing was done (so im guessing it was train to attack).... also my nan had a old english sheep dog (dulux dog) and that was crazy it bit my grandad my dad and my aunt 30mins after my aunt coming back from hospital the dog bit my mum lol... was ok with me and my sister though (we where about 5 at the time) my aunt also had a old english sheep dog call wooster was so soft it was untrue was an amazing dog... its all down to the training and inbreeding i think
sorry for the o/t story there but that is a example of how one dog can be the best dog in the world and another dog of the same bread can the DEVIL !!!!!
and well done gavin i wouldnt know what to do if i was in that position .... i was attack by scottys once and i shit one running about the bastards double teamed me !!!! (there was 2 of them)
