Right guys,
I am basically asking for examples of cheap chinese bikes that have fallen apart etc
Some one at my dad's place of work has started to sell Viva-Motorsport's bikes, they look real cheap. And has some how convinced him to buy one.

And I need proof to back up my claims that all these cheap chinese clone bikes are a pile of crap and that he really shouldn't buy one ____________________ ◙◙► K6 GSXR 600 ◄◙◙◙◙► K5 GSXR 1000 ◄◙◙◙◙► K5 GSXR 600 ◄◙◙◙◙► 96 RF600r ◄◙◙

Used to be a nice site on the taishan peds and their faults, but it doesn't seem to exist anymore
I remember one story of a lad who bought one, a few weeks later he was riding along one night when the handlebars came off and he crashed into a skip |

1) I rung a local bike place for advice when i was starting out and the following sentences were said to me before anything else
"What ever you do, do NOT buy into that cheap chinese crap. The girl who works on the counter here's boyfriend had one. At first, for a grand it was a lot of brand new bike for the money. A week after getting it, the shock abosorber snapped when he got on. That got fixed, and then it happened again. Then it got fixed. Then it happened again. Then, for a laugh it snapped the mounting out the frame. In this time, the dealership has withdrawn as THEY ARE SICK OF WARRANTY CLAIMS AND PREMATURE FAILURES AND STRUGGLE TO GET PARTS THEMSELVES. We are currently trying to find a suitable damper unit to modify this heap of shite so it wont do it again."
2) Anything that has to be sold (IMO) as an "alike" as these things often are(eg: CG 125 alike etc) and not on its own merits is an incredably weak product to start with.
3) i seem to remember another frame snapping tale appearing on here not so long ago. The new bike was out of its 30 day warranty by a day or so, and the frame snapped, leaving matey somewhat displeased at the whole episode.

I also remember the article in MCN saying that the Chinese bikes were disappearing with alarming frequency. The article clearly implied that it was as the owners binned the rotting and broken heaps of shite in a field, and burned them out to claim on the insurance, and buy a sensible bike as they should have in the first place.
Heres another tale of mass disentigration : https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=100162&highlight=chinese+bikes
etc etc ____________________ 1997 Kawasaki ER 500 A1:- Once again, Its merely crap |
